This is the second part of the ET TV Video "To Think or Not to Think". The Q&A is pre-recorded and lasts about an hour. Some of the questions asked are: Do we have a shadow? What is yours, Eckhart? Eckhart offers a brief but provocative response to this interesting member submission on the phenomenon known as “the shadow.” Do you experience the Earth as Gaia? Eckhart replies by explaining how just as the one consciousness animates an individual’s physical form, the one consciousness animates also the Earth as a living, intelligent being. And more than that . . . Do you have any advice for people experiencing a “crisis of awakening”? The ego may start to panic when it’s no longer in control. Eckhart points us to a place inside that is not confused or frightened. How do we reach it? Through a fuller acknowledgment of the present moment. How do we integrate spirituality into ordinary existence? Eckhart reminds us that spirituality is not something separate from daily existence; on the other hand, the more “spiritual” you are, the more “ordinary” you are. Is the state of Presence devoid of emotional content? Emotions and thoughts can certainly arise while we are in a state of Presence. The key is to hold the space for them without getting lost in the mind stream. There is a short period of silent mediation before and after the video. We start proptly at 6:45 pm. You need to be buzzed in to the Buddhist Center, so please do not plan on arriving later than 7:00pm as it will be disturbing to the group. Coffee and casual conversation follows for those who wish: Townhouse Diner East side of 2nd Ave 37th - 38th st

So sorry for the error! The meeting that was supposed to take place on WED Sept 30 has been cancelled. That program, will take place THURS Oct 1 - same location Members of Eckhart Tolle TV have the option of submitting video, audio, or text inquiriies. Here are some questions that will be answered in this upcoming program. (All programs pre recorded). 1. At the time of death, where does the life force go? Eckhart addresses this question from a member who recently lost a friend to an untimely death. His reassuring message: that the eternal in us cannot be touched. 2. What is the relationship between diet and spirituality? Eckhart approaches this question by suggesting that we try to be present with whatever it is we choose to eat. Then the right choices for you will come—from within, rather than from without. 3. Shouldn't we live as simply as possible? Eckhart discusses spiritual awakening as it relates to two aspects of life: the acquisition of things, and the activities we engage in. Liberation, he explains, depends upon your inner relationship to what you have or do. 4. Can we find stillness in the midst of prolonged pain? The majority of the population on Earth is not even aware of the possibility that you can, in fact, accept the “unacceptable.” Eckhart reflects on experiencing relief by letting go of inner resistance to pain and its psychological components. These and other questions will be answered by Eckhart in a 1hr 15 min video. Each meeting begins and ends with a short period of silent meditation. By group conscience we ask that you do not plan on arriving after 7:00 pm. Thank you! "When you step into the Now, you step out of the content of your mind. The incessant stream of thinking slows down. Thoughts don't absorb all your attention anymore, don't draw you in totally. Gaps arise in between thoughts -- spaciousness, stillness. You begin to realize how much vaster and deeper you are than your thoughts." Through the centuries countless people from around the world have been coming to India, thirsty in their search for truth. Considered to be the birthplace of spirituality, India has produced more great mystics and spiritual teachers than any country. What more fitting place for Eckhart to speak of the eternal Now? It is here on the banks of the holy Ganga, amidst the snow-capped Himalayas and the tremendous beauty of scarlet sunsets that a group of determined souls from around the globe met to sit together in silence. With Eckhart's guidance, the rigors of living in India served as teachers pointing to the release of attachment to form and to seeing deeper into the inner. Join them in this transformational experience and allow yourself to be guided through words and stillness into the state of presence. This is the surrendered state of consciousness in which the very limitations of form become an opening to the divine. This meeting follows guidelines set up by Eckhart. It begins and ends with a 10 minute silent meditation, and there is no formal discussion. Vidoe time: 1 1/2 hr. Coffee and casual conversation follow, for those who wish.
