Our Study & Practice Group will begin again on Monday, Sept. 21/09. Meetups will be held every second Tuesday until the Christmas season. The format will be the same as last year. We gather at 7:00 pm at Knox United Church (not Knox Presbyterian). We go over the format so newcomers know what's going on, then we go around the circle to introduce ourselves briefly. We listen to a recorded interview of Tolle addressing a variety of issues for about 20 minutes. We then go around the circle again following a somewhat formal process to share briefly and from the heart our insights and questions. The process is simple and ensures that everyone has an opportunity to speak and that everyone is encouraged to listen. We take a short break with refreshments provided by the Knox Centre and end by sitting in silent practice for 20 minutes. Things wind up at about 8:30 pm. Some of the group generally goes to the Tim Horton's at the corner of 4th St SW and 6th St SW to get to know each other in a less formal atmosphere.

We have been at this for a while and have worked hard to find the best way to do things. The idea is simply to take encouragement from meeting with other people who are interested in Tolle's work. No preparation is required to participate. There is an atmosphere of warmth, respect and humility in the group, which is usually about 8 to 12 people, although there have been as many as 24. There are almost always newcomers--it is perfectly fine to drop in and check things out. The meeting place is a beautiful old Gothic Revival church downtown with easy access to the LRT and plenty of parking at that time of day. This Meetup is sponsored by the Knox Centre http://www.knoxcentre.ca/ which is the educational ministry of Knox United Church, a congregation very much in the liberal protestant Christian tradition.

The entrance to Knox is on east side of 4th St. SW between 5th Ave. SW and 6th Ave SW. Parking is available on the west side of 4th St. SW, either on the street or in the municipal lot. Knox is 1.5 blocks south of the LRT line between the 3rd. St. stop (eastbound) and the 4th St. stop (westbound).
